PRIVACY POLICY


I.  Purpose:
The primary goal of the Privacy Policy of Metairie Bank & Trust Company is to establish privacy principles and guidelines that Metairie Bank and its employees must follow in collecting, retaining, and using Metairie Bank customers' personal financial information. The purpose of the privacy policy is to establish a workable program for the responsibility of maintenance of Metairie Bank customer financial privacy. 

  

II.  General - Confidential Information:
At Metairie Bank, the basis of each customer relationship is trust. You have chosen to do business with Metairie Bank, and we are obligated to honor that relationship with great care, beginning with the information you have chosen to share with us. We believe that your privacy should not be compromised. At the same time, we want to offer you the array of financial products and services you need to accomplish your financial goals. We believe we can do both through our privacy policy.

Bank customers entrust Metairie Bank with important information relating to their financial business. The nature of this relationship requires maintenance of confidentiality. In safeguarding the information received, Metairie Bank earns the respect and further trust of its customers. In addition, confidentiality applies not only to customer information and to the relationships between Metairie Bank and our customers, but also to sensitive and confidential information regarding Metairie Bank itself.

Personal and financial information about our customers can be provided to Metairie Bank through various transactions conducted in our offices, such as loan and deposit applications, and also through transactions conducted on our internet web site. We will maintain and protect this information received through our web site according to our usual, strict security and confidentiality standards.

Employment with Metairie Bank assumes an obligation to maintain confidentiality, even after an employee leaves the employ of Metairie Bank.

Any violation of confidentiality seriously injures Metairie Bank's reputation and effectiveness. Therefore, employees of Metairie Bank are instructed not to discuss Metairie Bank's business with anyone who does not work for the Bank, and to never discuss business transactions with anyone who does not have a direct association with the transaction. Even casual remarks can be misinterpreted and repeated, so Bank employees are expected to exhibit the personal discipline necessary to maintain confidentiality. Due to the serious nature of the privacy issue, disclosure of confidential information by a Bank employee could lead to appropriate disciplinary measures, including dismissal.

If an employee is questioned by someone outside the Bank or their department, and the employee is concerned about the appropriateness of giving them certain information, employees are reminded that they are not required to answer, and that the Bank does not wish them to do so. Instead, the Bank employee is instructed to refer the request to their supervisor or to the Bank President.

No Bank employee is permitted to remove or make copies of any Metairie Bank records, reports or documents without prior Bank management approval.
 

III.  Privacy Principles:
All Metairie Bank employees shall adhere to the following Privacy Principles concerning the financial, transactional, and personal information of Bank customers.
 
    A.
Recognition of a Customer's Expectation of Privacy

Metairie Bank & Trust Company recognizes and respects the privacy expectations of its customers. We will maintain standards to ensure that your information is private and secure at all times. The Privacy Policy of Metairie Bank is available to all customers of the Bank upon request.

    B. Collection, Use and Retention of Customer Information
Metairie Bank & Trust Company will collect, use and retain information about individual customers only where the Bank reasonably believes it would be useful (and allowed by law) to administering the Bank's business and to provide products, services and other opportunities to the Bank's customers. We collect and retain information about you only for specific business purposes, and we will tell you why we are collecting and retaining it upon your request.

    C. Maintenance of Accurate Information
Metairie Bank & Trust Company has established procedures and Bank employees will make every reasonable effort to ensure that a customer's financial information is accurate, current and complete in accordance with reasonable commercial standards. The Bank will also respond to requests to correct inaccurate information in a timely manner.

    D. Limiting Employee Access to Information
Metairie Bank & Trust Company limits employee access to personally identifiable information to those employees with a business reason for knowing such information. All Bank employees have been educated as to the importance of confidentiality and customer privacy. All Metairie Bank employees are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of customer information. The Bank will take appropriate disciplinary measures to enforce privacy responsibilities.

   E. Protection of Information via Established Security Procedures
Metairie Bank & Trust Company is committed to the security of your financial and personal information. Metairie Bank maintains appropriate technical and organizational safeguards and security standards and procedures regarding the protection of the confidentiality of financial and personal customer information against unauthorized access and for protection against accidental loss, destruction, or alteration. We will treat information about consumers who are not our current customers in the same strict manner as we treat information about our existing customers. Our employees are trained to understand and comply with these information privacy principles.

    F. Restrictions on the Disclosure of Account Information
Metairie Bank & Trust Company will not reveal specific information about Bank customer relationships, customer accounts or other personally identifiable data to unaffiliated third parties for their independent use, except for the exchange of information with reputable information reporting agencies to maximize the accuracy and security of such information or in the performance of bona fide corporate due diligence or business matter, unless: (1) the information is provided to help complete a customer initiated transaction; (2) the customer requests or permits it; (3) the disclosure is required by or allowed by law (i.e. subpoena, investigation of fraudulent activity, etc.); or (4) the customer has been informed about the possibility of such disclosure for marketing or similar purposes through a prior communication and is given the opportunity to decline (i.e. "opt out").

    G. Maintaining Customer Privacy in Business Relationships with Third Parties
If personally identifiable customer information is provided by Metairie Bank & Trust Company to an outside third party, such as vendors and service providers, Metairie Bank will insist that the third party adhere to similar privacy principles that provide for keeping such information confidential.

    H. Disclosure of Privacy Principles to Customers and Responding to Inquiries
At Metairie Bank, we value our customer relationships and recognize and respect the privacy expectations of our customers. We want our customers to understand our commitment to privacy in our use of customer personal and financial information. Customers that are concerned about financial privacy will want to know about the Bank’s treatment of the important privacy issue. Metairie Bank & Trust Company has developed this Privacy Policy and these Privacy Principles, which are made readily available to our customers upon request. Any personal information submitted by you to our web site is available for personal inspection during bank business hours.
