Our History

On February 15, 1947, Metairie Bank & Trust Company was founded by local businessmen in order for Metairie to take its place as a self-sufficient community.

Metairie Bank & Trust Company was the first bank on the East Bank of Jefferson Parish and has operated continuously from Metairie since 1947.  Metairie Bank is now the oldest, and largest, commercial bank headquartered in Jefferson Parish, which is the second largest parish in the state of Louisiana.  Metairie is an unincorporated township located on the western border of New Orleans.  The bank’s main office is located at 3344 Metairie Road, Metairie, La., 70001 and the main telephone number is (504) 834-6330. The bank operates a total of nine offices located throughout the metropolitan New Orleans area.

Our primary service area is the East Bank of Jefferson Parish and Western St Tammany consisting of the cities of Mandeville and Covington.  We also service the remaining portions of Jefferson and St Tammany Parish as well as Orleans, St. Charles, St. Bernard and St. John parishes.  Deposits are FDIC insured and Metairie Bank is an equal housing opportunity lender. The bank is a member of the Louisiana Banker’s Association and the Independent Community Bankers of America.
